Description
A delicious green tea character with notes of toast. A haunting finish.
Bancha is a type of Sencha that contains more stems. Both Bancha and Sencha green teas are considered everyday green tea drinks in Japan. The leaves to produce Bancha are generally plucked after the new season and tend to be somewhat more coarse. This however gives the tea its unique character and visual appearance. Since the leaves used to make, Bancha are more coarse, and contain some stalks and stems the resulting tea generally contains less caffeine or tannin than the finer grades of Japanese tea, also the cup tends to be somewhat milder
A sample will make roughly 3 cups worth of tea. An ounce will make roughly 11-17 cups of tea depending on leaf weight. (1 tsp of tea = (1) 8oz cup). This tea is loose leaf and will require an infuser or steeping basket/cup etc.
